On November 13, 2025, we were honoured to welcome Dr. Isata Mahoi, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs, to our Sweet Salone shop in Iceland.
During her visit, Dr. Mahoi explored our range of locally made Sierra Leonean products, from handcrafted pottery to hand woven baskets. She was deeply impressed by the skill, creativity, and care that goes into every piece, highlighting the incredible talent of Sierra Leonean artisans.
This visit celebrates the artistry and dedication of Sierra Leonean artisans,, whose craftsmanship inspires our work. It also reminds us of the importance of supporting locally made products that carry rich cultural stories.
We are truly grateful for Dr. Mahoi’s visit and for the opportunity to showcase Sierra Leonean creativity on an international stage. Moments like these reinforce our commitment to celebrating heritage, empowering artisans, and sharing meaningful craftsmanship globally.
